PROCLAMAZIONE SQUADRA NAZIONALE TWIRLING

24-25th May 2014, Cantalupa - Proclamation of the National Tem. Two days, the 24th and the 25th May, describing them as intense may be derogatory. The best of Italian Twirling met at the Palazzetto dello Sport theatre in Cantalupa, centre of the Pinerolo valleys heart, to assign the Italian A Series championships, to men and women. At stake, however, there was a lot more, i.e. the selections for the European Cup of next July in Germany and especially the last decisions related to the summons of the Nottingham World Championship of next August.

First on the field, the free-style athletes, Senior and Junior classes. It hits, at the end of an excellent trial, the Italian Team captain, Daniele Zambito, during a great "Charlie Chaplin". Daniele Zambito won during the third trial in Cantalupa (after the second place in the Trapani competition and the first place in Sacconago) and he won the Italian championship, umpteenth of a perfect career.

Second place for his training partner, Fabio Agaliati, at his second attendance and winner of a silver medal after the good start in the first phase of A Series, in Trapani. Round of applause of the audience for both athletes. Agaliati redeemed himself in the afternoon event, the duo senior, won with his partner, Federica Italia, ahead of the tandem Lascala/Rossetti of the club Sacconago and Favotto/Mora (Santa Cristina). On the final ranking for the Italian Championship, the second and the third places are traded.

Resuming the free-style senior challenge, third place men for Vittorio Pandini (Rivolta) and third place in the Italian Championship (with the best two results out of three trials) for Giacomo Rocchetti (Fantasy).

The most interesting trial, because at stake there was the third place valid for the summoning in the Solo event in Nottingham World Championship, was the senior free-style women. The winner of the Cantalupa competition was Margherita Rocchetti (Fantasy), the author of a brilliant performance, both in a technical and in artistic way. Second place for Silvia Tarabbia, showing skill and perfection in motion. Third place for Ilaria Interligi (Nova Milanese), maybe too much satisfied for the previous two achievements that mathematically elected her as Italian Event Champion 2014.

Fourth place for Melissa Bellotti, notably even if she tried to be summoned for the World Championship until the end. She will be a reserve of Silvia Tarabbia. In the Italian Championship ranking, so, first place for Ilaria Interligi, second place Margherita Rocchetti, third place Silvia Tarabbia: "A great day - she said at last - where I reached the highest level of performance through skill and determination".

Another great trial of Luca Fasano (Sangano) during the junior free-style men event, becoming the Italian Class Champion, ahead of Salvatore Adernò (Noto) and Davide Olivo Sidoti (second place in Cantalupa competition), for the Onda Sport club.

For the women, in the junior free-style, Giulia Damilano confirmed her leadership in Cantalupa, becoming Italian Champion (by winning the A Series third phase) ahead of Federica Bacchella (Vigevano) and Chiara Colafrancesco (Vellezzo).

In Cantalupa, for the "stage" trial, Bacchella ahead of Sara Faverato (Arcobaleno).

The final remark of FITW President Franco Ferraresi: "Two days that showed how our sport is fascinating and spectacular. There was all the elements of a big event and they have been deployed. Group harmony, also this time, is the key word, beyond the rivalry during the fight for victory. A great day because the team

showed for the first time to the audience the exercise trained for months, touching the participants. Before that, a prologue, opened by a "dancing" Italian Hymn, sung with all the Italian Champion winners lined up in front of the podium.
