XXVII TURIN MARATHON 2013

17th November 2013, a great day based on wellness and sport showing NaturAid sustaining big running companies: Turin Marathon which gathers international athletes, Junior Marathon which gathers junior runners with their families and the Stra Torino, a big event that collects over 10.000 Turin citizens for a walk along the Turin streets.

The XXVII Turin Marathon Gran Premio La Stampa, in facts, resulted in a popular successful event.

4200 Marathon runners, 10.000 Stra Torin attendees and thousands of children and families for the Junior Marathon.

On the agonistic point of view, it has been a Kenyan dominance. The winner is Patrick Terer, in his second Turin Marathon, who replay the 2012 winning by closing in 2h08'52'' (his personal best and almost 2 minutes under his best time in the previous edition), ahead of Benjamin Kolum, 2h09'50'', and Samson Kagia, 2h10'38'' (personal best). A enthusiast Domenico Ricatti, first among Italian runners, is ranked fifth in 2h16'42''.

For the women, the winner is Ivana Iozzia, with a time of 2h34'12'', ahead of the Portuguese Monica Da Silva (2h41'43''). Third place for Elena Casaro with 2h43'00''.

Great result for the new technologies too, thanks to the video transmission and shot techniques applied for the second year in a row, with the partnership of Telecom Italia (LTE), LibLab (up-linking and production) and Aerial View (drones). A innovative technology to prepare the ground for a new technique of live-recording of a sporting event. Turin Marathon 2013 has been broadcasted live on Rai Sport from 9:25 to 12:30 a.m.

Also the StraTorino this year was incredible: over 10000 attendees for the charity run participating, as a tradition, to the event "Tredicesima dell'amicizia", coordinated by Specchio dei Tempi - La Stampa Foundation. A big party where it has taken part the runners, walkers, sports club, families accompanied sometimes by 4-paws friends, equipped with pectoral board, and everybody with the wish of staying together, living a sport experience and admiring the city.

The audience and the runners have been entertained by the comedian Wlady Tallini, a famous television and radio character of our Country, and by Clara Vercelli, over the last years one of the sport and independent broadcasting queen of Piedmont, and by Oscar Senna, a great writer of Turin.

The number of Junior Marathon is extremely important. This family-sized event pushed thousands of children to run with their parents and they turned Carlo Felice square, via Roma and Castello square into a long coloured "snake".
